Axis Companion Recorder simplifies your network security camera deployment so even small businesses can have enterprise-grade security. Companion Recorder is a three-in-one unit: an 8-channel NVR, an 8-port PoE switch, and an 802.11n Wi-Fi AP. As an NVR (network video recorder), the Companion Recorder stores the video feeds coming from up to 8 connected Axis IP cameras, so your evidence will be safe and easy to access. It stores the data using the efficient H.264 video codec, which retains detail while reducing file size. A USB 2.0 port on Companion Recorder allows you to quickly and simply download video from the recorder.

Axis Companion Recorder is also an 8-port PoE switch with a maximum output of 65W. PoE (Power over Ethernet) allows you to power a device through an Ethernet cable. So the Companion Recorder can also provide power for up to eight Companion cameras, in addition to storing their video feeds. The Recorder itself needs to be plugged into a wall socket and Axis includes the necessary power supply. What's more, Axis Companion Recorder is also a Wi-FI AP (access point), which allows mobile devices to securely and directly connect to your camera system. The Axis Companion video management software makes managing your camera system simple, and includes apps for Android and iOS, so you can monitor your system from anywhere. Axis Companion Recorder is compact, measuring less than eight inches square, and fanless, so it'll be whisper quiet.
