The Grandstream UCM6300 Series of IP PBXs have become on of the most popular choices for small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) looking to establish a professional communications system on a budget.
These VoIP PBXs let you control your communications while having complete, enterprise-worthy feature-sets.
Grandstream IP PBXs combine power and adaptability.
Take the hospitality industry.
VoIP phone systems for hotels have specific requirements that are not in common with the typical business communications environment. With a hotel IP PBX, you not only want ultra-reliable telephony, but also integrated control for check-in/check-out, wake-up calls, mini bars, and more.
Wouldn’t it be great if an IP PBX just natively supported these hotel phone system features? Enter Grandstream.
In this blog, we’re going to give an overview of how Grandstream UCM6300 IP PBXs like Grandstream UCM6304 can be used as VoIP phone systems for the hospitality industry.
We’re also going to show you how Grandstream provides a comprehensive, single-vendor ecosystem for hotel communications, including IP PBXs, hotel phones, Wi-Fi access points, and more.
Using Grandstream IP PBXs with Hotel PMS Systems
As of the publication of this blog (September 2023), Grandstream UCM6300 IP PBXs support integration with three Hotel PMS (Property Management System) platforms: Mitel, char pmslink (formerly HMobile Connect), and HSC Connect. In addition, the Grandstream UCM6300 Series offers a native, lightweight PMS solution.
With Mitel PMS, the PMS software is directly integrated with the Grandstream IP PBX.
char pmslink and HSC Connect are middleware that sit between the IP PBX and PMS software. This arrangement allows you to leverage the PBX functionality and network connectivity of the Grandstream IP PBX while having the front-end PMS platform of your choice.
Depending on the PMS system, features offered include check-in/check-out, wake-up call, room status, room move, do not disturb, mini bar, and more.
The IP PBXs also have a built-in PMS system. Grandstream UCM63XX Local PMS offers a lightweight PMS solution for small hotels. This system supports basic features: room management, room status (i.e., check-in/check-out and room availability), wake-up service, and maid service.
Using Grandstream IP PBXs with Hotel CRM Systems
Some hotels or hotel chains might want to build their client relationships using CRM platforms. On top of PMS integration, Grandstream also offers CRM integration with popular platforms: Salesforce, Sugar, Vtiger, Zoho, and ACT!
Grandstream’s CRM support lets you quickly add leads, show contact’s records, and save call information under the contact’s history. For hotels that want to build their client base, here’s another great opportunity opened up by the UCM6300 Series.
Grandstream IP PBXs as part of a single-vendor hotel communications ecosystem
With hotels, it can be really challenging to find, purchase, and integrate devices from multiple companies. A Wi-Fi router from X, a hotel phone from Y, a PBX from Z. Will they all work together? You hope so.
Grandstream offers a different path: a single vendor for all your hotel communications needs. Having a one-company ecosystem for hotels ensures interoperability, greatly simplifying device integration and system management.
You’re running a hotel. Travelers and business people are looking for a comfortable, hassle-free experience. You don’t want to be worrying about your communications system.
When we say it’s a complete hospitality communications ecosystem, what do we mean?
Obviously, the IP PBX is necessary to handle telephony. With PMS system support, as already covered, your communications and customer management systems are integrated.
But Grandstream also offers more:
- VoIP hotel phones for placement in rooms
- VoIP gateways to integrate existing analog hotel phones with your IP network
- Network switches to ensure fast, reliable network connectivity
- Wi-Fi access points to establish a top-class wireless network
- VoIP door phones to secure entryways and provide a simple method for clients to enter the hotel
We’re now going to cover each of these briefly.
Grandstream VoIP hotel phones
Grandstream has a generous line of VoIP hotel phones like Grandstream GHP621 that are affordable while retaining desired features. Going with Grandstream Phones lets you take full advantage of the simplified management and expanded feature-sets that VoIP offers over traditional telephony.
To decide which Grandstream hotel phone is best for your hotel, you just need to answer three questions:
- Full-sized phone with six buttons or slimline phone with three buttons?
- Wi-Fi or no Wi-Fi?
- Black or white?

Grandstream VoIP gateways
If you already have a fleet of analog hotel phones, you might not want to replace all of them. Extending the lifetime of existing phones or migrating at your own pace can be really great.
Grandstream VoIP gateways like Grandstream GXW4216 v2, which has 16 FXS ports, can integrate large numbers of analog phones into a hotel VoIP phone system, so you can take advantage of many of the benefits of VoIP.
Grandstream network switches
Recently, Grandstream has started releasing network switches that give you exceptional performance on a budget. For hotels, network switches connect your devices like Wi-Fi access points to establish a fast, stable IP network.
Additionally, a POE switch like Grandstream GWN7812P can power connected devices through the same Ethernet cable that connects the device to the network, saving you on infrastructure costs.
Grandstream Wi-Fi access points
Hotel-goers today demand good Wi-Fi. They want a fast and secure wireless network with a stable signal.
Grandstream offers a full line-up of Wi-Fi access points, both indoors and outdoors. Of particular note for Wi-Fi for the hospitality industry are Grandstream’s in-wall Wi-Fi access points.
In a recent blog, we covered how these give hotels excellent Wi-Fi coverage while keeping a low profile: The benefits for hotels of in-wall Wi-Fi access points.
Grandstream VoIP door phones
Secure facility management that is also simple for hotel patrons is a necessity today.
Grandstream Door Phones like Grandstream GDS3705, which has native support for RFID cards, so patrons can enter the facility securely. It also has a keypad. GDS3705 is a duplex intercom with a microphone and speaker so guests can call the front desk if they need to. And it’s weatherproof with a zinc-alloy metal casing to protect against vandals.
With options like these, you can see how Grandstream really does offer a whole ecosystem of solutions for hotels.
