Jabra Direct is a free, lightweight application that lets you customize the functionality of your Jabra USB headsets.
When you have a Jabra USB headset or Bluetooth adapter plugged into a computer, it will show up in Jabra Direct. Then you can control settings, update firmware, and more.
Jabra Direct is available for Windows or macOS. To download Jabra Direct, click here >

Jabra Direct lets you configure numerous device settings. For example, with Jabra Engage 50, you can customize the following features:
- Equalizer mode for calls

- IntelliTone level
- Sidetone
- Sidetone level
- Headset busylight
- Sounds
- Mute reminder
- Optimize audio for music
And you can name the headset, a useful feature in open offices.
If you’re using a Jabra Link headset controller, you can customize what the buttons do, including setting extensions for speed dialing.
Direct also lets you activate softphone call control.
Controlling Softphones
USB headsets are ideal for use with softphones, because they provide plug-and-play connectivity. Jabra headsets can be used for direct call control on the headset or controller itself, making your workflow that much simpler.
Using Jabra Direct, you can enable call control for compatible softphones. You can synchronize your presence for improved collaboration, as well as set a preferred softphone if your company uses multiple services.
For Windows, Jabra Direct supports softphones from:
- Avaya
- BroadSoft
- Cisco
- CounterPath
- Microsoft Lync
- Skype for Business
- NEC
- ShoreTel
For macOS, Jabra Direct supports softphones from:
- Avaya
- CounterPath
- Skype (for consumers)
Note that Jabra Direct does not support all softphones and softphone versions from these manufacturers.
We recommend you doublecheck the latest compatibility guidelines from Jabra before purchase.
For softphones not on these lists, don’t worry. The headset will still work perfectly for all your calls and music. But you will need to control calls in the softphone, rather than with the headset itself.
Firmware Updates
Jabra Direct also lets you update your headset with just a couple of clicks. Firmware updates improve performance, add new features, and ensure security.
You can set Jabra Direct to automatically notify you of new firmware updates.
