Polycom EagleEye Director II makes professional video conferencing effortless. You just let the conversation flow while the Director, true to its name, directs the video.
Video conferencing is a technology on the rise: businesses across the world are adopting it more and more. Why? Because it’s an intimate technology that saves time and money. You get to see people face-to-face and notice all the visual cues that are so important.
You see them, that is, if the picture is captured correctly. The benefits often come with a lot of background effort, all the setting up and controlling and fiddling with buttons and presets.
The EagleEye Director II does all the work for you. Compatible with Polycom Group Series video conferencing systems, the EagleEye Director II controls two EagleEye IV 12x cameras, panning, tilting and zooming to frame conference participants expertly. It switches to the active speaker automatically, maintains the context of a conversation, and much more.

Polycom EagleEye Director II
Polycom EagleEye Director II is an accessory for Polycom Group Series video conferencing systems. It works with the Group Series 300, 310, 500, 550 and 700 systems.
It looks like a speaker bar with an antenna and a discreet camera in the middle with spaces on top for two webcams: Polycom EagleEye IV 12x cameras. You can either use existing EagleEye IV 12x cameras, buy them separately, or there are bundles available with one or two of the cameras included.
The EagleEye IV 12x video camera is an incredible piece of business technology in its own right, capable of 1080p60 video with 10x optical zoom, 12x digital zoom, a 65° wide-angle field of view, and a 180° panning radius. EagleEye IV is versatile. The wide field of view lets it work for small rooms, while the incredible lossless optical zoom lets it work for large rooms.
The EagleEye Director II controls two cameras, earning the name “Director.” Polycom even claims TV-production quality—and you don’t have to do anything!
How does EagleEye Director II work?
Polycom EagleEye Director II uses a discreet camera with advanced face-recognition and speaker tracking technology to track people up to a range of 33 feet (10 meters). This means that it works for even good-sized conference rooms. It automatically zooms one of the EagleEye IV cameras in on the active speaker. It uses the pair of cameras to switch from speaker to speaker seamlessly. You can set it to frame individuals or groups.
You’ll never have to worry about presets or remote controls again—manual control is a thing of the past. The promise of video conferencing is intimate conversation across space. Instead of fiddling with controls, now you can just get to solving business problems and building relationships.
As a final note, the EagleEye Director II also records analytical data when used with Polycom RealPresence Clariti. This helps you optimize your video conferencing resources and measure ROI.
