The Poly Voyager headsets are very popular and come in two versions: UC and Office. Here at IP Phone Warehouse, we get a lot of people asking what is the difference between the Voyager UC and Voyager Office series headsets?
To help illustrate the answer to this question, we will be looking at the Poly Voyager 4210 UC and the Poly Voyager 4210 Office 1-Way Base Headset.
Poly Voyager UC vs Poly Voyager Office Headsets
Poly Voyager UC Series Headsets, like the 4210 UC, are designed to be used with a computer and/or a mobile device such as a smartphone. A USB dongle is used to pair the headset to a computer via Bluetooth. When pairing the headset to a mobile device, Bluetooth is also used, but the USB dongle is not needed.
Poly Voyager Office Series Headsets are designed to be used with a deskphone. However, some of you may be asking, what if I want a headset that works with both my deskphone and my computer? If you want a Voyager Office headset that works with both a deskphone and a computer, the Voyager Office 2-way base headsets work with both!
So, to recap:
If you want the headset to only work with a desktop phone, get the Voyager Office headset with a 1-way base. If the headset needs to work with both a deskphone and a computer, then get a Voyager Office headset with a 2-way base, such as the Poly Voyager 4210 Office 2-Way Base Headset.
