Every port is backwards compatible with earlier Ethernet standards, as well. The M4200 is not simply rack-mountable, which it is, but it is also plenum-rated for out-of-the-way placement and comes with a generous selection of mounting gear. Without a license, you get L2 switching and L3 routing control. The switch operates below the volume level of an ordinary office, producing only 28.9 dB of sound when running at 77°F.
